| What We Do |
|
"What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?...faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." (James 2:14-17) Social Concern, while all encompassing, is composed of two different levels of involvement. Our Social Service Ministry seeks to relieve basic human needs by means of philanthropic actions to individuals and families. Our Social Action Ministry strives to tackle the adverse symptoms of our society at their root causes - We actively work to transform the social, economical and political structure of our society. "O Lord our God, we confess our personal and social sin. Forgive our blindness, our indifference, our hardness of heart. Show us that we are members of one another, and that the hurt of one, even the humblest, is an injury to all, and a sin against you. Deliver us from the spirit of oppression, and from the selfish greed that seeks our own comfort at the cost of misery for others. Create in us a passion for justice, so that freedom may be a blessing, and liberty may bear the fruit of righteousness and good will. Amen." - By the Rev. Clayton Priestnal |
