Social Concern

"What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" (Micah 6:8)

"For we are God´s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

In First Evangelical Church of Diamond Bar, we undertake social concern in witness to God´s just and loving intention of all His creation. Through our faith in the Gospel, we are liberated to love our neighbor in this world, as we pray for "a new heaven and a new earth". In this mortal world, the Church is called upon to live its faith, love and hope by caring for and transforming the structures of society, working for justice and preserving the earth´s resources. We recognize that fulfilling one´s spiritual needs is not enough; it is our mission to also address the worldly needs.

To participate in God´s Mission, FECDB shall:

  • Serve to meet human needs, caring for the sick and the aged, advocating dignity and justice for all people, and standing with the poor and downtrodden and committing itself to their needs.

To fulfill these purposes, FECDB shall:

  • Serve humanity, cooperating with church and other groups participating in activities that promote justice, relieve misery.

  • Study social issues and trends, work to discover the causes of injustice, and develop programs of ministry and advocacy to further human dignity, freedom, justice and peace in the world.
